Solivar: A technical monument of global significance
Another fascinating place that you should not miss when visiting the Prešov area is Solivar. It is a national cultural monument and one of the most important technical monuments in Slovakia, testifying to the long and rich tradition of salt mining and processing. The dominant feature of Solivar is the unique wooden bread house, the oldest preserved wooden building of its kind in Europe, which was used for evaporating brine.
